{"id":290,"date":"2017-06-06T20:39:43","date_gmt":"2017-06-06T20:39:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ucatolica.edu.co\/english\/?page_id=290"},"modified":"2017-08-23T15:57:11","modified_gmt":"2017-08-23T15:57:11","slug":"internationalization","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ucatolica.edu.co\/english\/index.php\/internationalization\/","title":{"rendered":"Internationalization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Internationalization at the Catholic University of Colombia is a process that strengthens the purposes of teaching, research and extension of the Institution.<\/p>\n<p>In the Agreement number 001 of 2015, the University defined three fronts of action for the implementation of its work plan:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Inter-institutional cooperation at national and international levels<\/li>\n<li>Internationalization at home<\/li>\n<li>National and international mobility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In order to ensure a harmonious implementation of the strategy, the University has the Office of International and Interinstitutional Affairs (ORII as it stands in Spanish), which guides and supports academic and administrative units in the management of relations with other institutions at national and international level, and provides advice to all members of the academic community on internationalization.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btn-nav\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ucatolica.edu.co\/english\/internationalization\/agreements\/\">Agreements<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"menu-collapse\">\n<h3 class=\"accordion\">International Programs<\/h3>\n<div class=\"panel\">\n<p><strong>Master in Political Sciences<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucatolica.edu.co\/english\/programs\/master-in-political-science\/\">Master in Political Sciences<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"accordion\">Study abroad<\/h3>\n<div class=\"panel\">\n<p>The best way to travel is to become a citizen of the world.<\/p>\n<p>The Catholic University of Colombia offers the opportunity for its students to take one or two semesters of their academic program in a national or in a foreign university with which there is a current agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Remember that an exchange is not the same as a languages trip, since during the exchange you will advance subjects of your study plan and you cannot only study the language. In this case, and if you want to see subjects in another language, you would have to present an exam that certifies an intermediate-high level in the language in which you would like to study. In the ORII we are working on agreements that contribute to your training in languages \u200b\u200babroad. Expect news of these new agreements later.<\/p>\n<h6>To access to this program, follow these steps:<\/h6>\n<ol>\n<li>Review the Universities with which the Catholic University of Colombia has specific mobility agreements.<\/li>\n<li>Browse the website of the University you are interested in, review their programs, offered subjects and also their foreign students webpage.<\/li>\n<li>If you need advice or to extend any information, contact the Office of International and Interinstitutional Affairs &#8211; ORII (located on the first floor of the Catholic University of Colombia \u201cEl Claustro\u201d headquarters).<\/li>\n<li>You must be aware of the calls that the ORII opens each semester, either for exchange programs or scholarship programs. These calls will be published on websites and other media.<\/li>\n<li>Start the process of reviewing homologous subjects with the coordinator of internationalization of your Faculty. This way, you will know which subjects you could see during your exchange and which will be homologated upon, returning with corresponding certificates.<\/li>\n<li>Apply by filing the documentation requested in the call, only on the indicated dates.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the first mobility filter news in your institutional email.<\/li>\n<li>Make the deliveries of additional documentation if you have been instructed to do so.<\/li>\n<li>Be patient! The official response from the destination university can be delayed for at least 6 weeks.<\/li>\n<li>In case of a positive answer, the ORII and the coordinator of internationalization of your Faculty will give you the last indications before your trip and put you in contact with the person who will welcome you at the destination university.<\/li>\n<li>Before traveling, deliver a copy of your visa to the ORII, as well as an international health insurance, a copy of your tickets and your payment receipt.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h6>Documents to be delivered (Call dates only):<\/h6>\n<ol>\n<li>Form of Application duly signed by its faculty (Enabled only on call dates)<\/li>\n<li>Cover Letter (Find later some tips for a successful cover letter)<\/li>\n<li>Grades Certificate<\/li>\n<li>ID Photocopy<\/li>\n<li>Valid Passport photocopy<\/li>\n<li>Application form for the destination University<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency certificate of the language in which the studies will be carried out (Each university could demand specific certificates and\/or scores, check that information on the corresponding web page)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>There are Universities that require more documentation than the forementioned above. Check your destination University list of documents or approach the ORII, to help you in your consultation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Explanatory notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The exchanges are usually not scholarships. This kinds of benefits are focused on fee reductions or discounts on the full tuition cost at the destination university.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Incomplete documentation will not be received for any application.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Do not buy tickets or international medical insurances before having received a formal acceptance letter from the destination university.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We will only receive foreign students documentation if the university of origin has previously nominated them.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"accordion\">Study at the Catholic University of Colombia!<\/h3>\n<div class=\"panel\">\n<h6>Would you like to make a student exchange at the Catholic University of Colombia? Find all the information here.<\/h6>\n<p>The Catholic University of Colombia participates in several exchange programs such as PAME, MACA, MACMEX and BRACOL. Each year, we welcome exchange students from our partner universities!<\/p>\n<p>Come and study one or two semesters as an exchange student at the Catholic University of Colombia!<\/p>\n<h4>Application call<\/h4>\n<p>These are the steps you should follow to apply:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to your University International Relations Office and ask about the possibility to apply for an exchange at the Catholic University of Colombia.<\/li>\n<li>Follow the instructions and the application process stated by your University of origin.<\/li>\n<li>Your University of origin will have to send an e-mail to jeramirez@ucatolica.edu.co, nominating the exchange candidates.
